Sneak Peek – David & Jennifer at Ashton Lodge Country House

Ashton Lodge Country House – A lovely lemon wedding!

Our last wedding in August this year was in Warwickshire for David & Jennifer’s big day. Following on from their engagement shoot we knew this was going to be fantastic wedding.

When we arrived at Ashton Lodge Country House we took a wander around the venue and were truly impressed with their marquee and the greens. The venue was beautiful decorated with lovely lemon the theme for day. The theme was wonderfully executed and the flowers by Simply Flowers By Catherine were simply awesome.

We enjoyed our day documenting their wedding day with their family and friends. From capturing the ‘I do’ to the lads doing their ‘reservoir dogs’ walk. Needless to say it was a laugh throughout.

Sneak Peek – Stephen and Sarah – Brooksby Hall, Melton Mowbray

Stephen & Sarah on their wedding day in front of Brooksyby Hall and Brooksby Church.

It’s been far too long since we have posted on our blog but after getting wed ourselves (more to come about our day over the coming weeks) we thought we better get this blog sorted.

Yesterday we traveled over to Brooksby Hall for the big day of Stephen and Sarah, a lovely couple we met nearly a year ago. I know Kane won’t forget the journey over to meet them for the first time because a few days later he received a letter from a speed camera but I won’t go in to that, I think I remind him enough.

We visited Brooksby Hall at the beginning of March for Stephen and Sarah’s engagement shoot unfortunately that day the rain didn’t give us a much time as we would have liked. But there wasn’t a sign of any rain yesterday, the were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, even if it was a little breezy.

Their day couldn’t have been any smoother, everything was perfect. The staff at Brooksby Hall were great, Sally the wedding co-ordinator was fantastic and looked after the couple and us so well. During their ceremony at the Church in the grounds, Brooksby Church, we briefly got to enjoy the awesome acoustic duet of Mango Acoustic Duo inside the beautiful church. Everything looked amazing, the flowers were wonderfully done by Flowers By Phillipa.

One thing we have to say that their wedding day is the first time we have ever seen one of our photographs on a M&M sweet, we’ll share a photo at some point, but it was awesome!

We throughly enjoyed being apart of your big day and we have to say an extra special well done to Stephen for keeping a smile on his face even though his beloved Aston Villa were taught a footballing lesson by Southampton. You both looked amazing and we hope you had the day to remember and we hope you have a fantastic honeymoon and all the best in the future.

Keep smiling!

{Competition} 2013 Wedding Photography Competition Winners

Our winners for our 2013 ‘Win Your Wedding Photography Competition’  were Stephen & Kyra.

Here’s what Kyra, the amazing bride, had to say on entering ‘Win Your Wedding Photography Competition’  and winning the competition.

When I first saw the competition for a chance to win our wedding photos I thought it was very unlikely that we’d get picked as finalists – yet alone win the entire competition – as I knew there’d be hundreds of people jumping at such a fantastic opportunity. But I decided to give it a go anyway, it couldn’t hurt and I wasn’t loosing out on anything, just the couple of minutes of my time that it took to fill out the entry form!

I knew exactly why it would mean so much to us as a couple to win something towards our wedding and I was honest in the answers that I gave. I noted down the dates of the draw for finding out who the finalists were and kept my fingers firmly crossed. Finding out that we were one of the three couples was such an achievement I just had to give it my all and BEG for votes! (Even if it meant annoying people). My husband kept telling me we had no chance as we never won anything but I didn’t listen and kept sharing the link for votes on Facebook and Twitter and tagging all my friends and family in it.

I was overwhelmed by all the support we were getting – people I didn’t know were voting for us and wishing us all the best – the power of social media!

The day of the final results came and my husband and I were both sat with our phones out, constantly refreshing the webpage, in anticipation. Then my husband said to me, ‘you’ll never guess who’s won’… And I said ‘I bet it’s not us’ (I had started to doubt myself as the other two couples had a fantastically romantic story of how they got engaged and ours was just plain and not really anything to brag about).

When my husband said yes it is us, I was absolutely over the moon. I couldn’t believe it. It might not be a lot to some people but it meant a lot to us. Not only the fact that we had won our wedding photography but the fact that so many people had got behind us to help make it possible.

Kane and Natalie immediately got in touch with us and we arranged a meeting, which gave us peace of mind that it was real and all legitimate. My husband and I can both honestly say that they are a lovely couple who know their stuff when it comes to photography and we are extremely grateful for everything they have done for us – all for no cost – travelling up to our venue in Edinburgh and taking the stunning pictures that we have received.

We were so happy with the service they gave when really they didn’t have to.

We are delighted that we gave the competition a go and persevered with getting new people to vote and would definitely recommend doing so to anyone else who is thinking about entering such a competition. Who knows, in just the click of a button and a few carefully selected words, this reality could be yours.

Good luck to all future applicants!
